Other Info:
Work started on building this brand new track in summer 2002 and it was surfaced in October 2002. It was officially opened by David Moorcroft on 19th May 2004. The track surface is Polytan and was built by the ERDC group. The track is owned by Brunel University whose Uxbridge campus is opposite the track location and the primary purpose of it is for the University to fulfill its curriculum responsibilities to its Sport Sciences and Education Departments. However there will be a fair amount of public access. The providing of a facility here was partly due to the university's Department of Sports Sciences move in 2002 to the Uxbridge site from the Osterley one. There are two other cinder tracks in Uxbridge - one inside the RAF base and the other at Hillingdon House Farm. An indoor straight is also planned to be built next to the track.
