Other Info:
The track was originally a 7 lane cinder track with a 8 lane home straight and opened on 4th May 1968 and called the Uxbridge Athletic Track. Miss Gwen Hill formed the Uxbridge Ladies AC at this time to operate from that track. It was used until the mid-to-late 1980s when the nearby Hayes track was upgraded to synthetic. In 1986, it was in reasonable condition although there was not much evidence of use as grass/weeds were starting to grow on the outside lanes. In 1998, it was very much disused with grass starting to conceal the curbs. In summer 2002, the surface was more like grass than cinder. The track was upgraded to synthetic in 2006.
