The straight was built as the same time as the stadium in 1990. It was resurfaced in January 2001 and has a Mondo Sportflex Super X Classic surface. Further details of the facilities here can be found under the entry for the adjacent outdoor track. The National Indoor Athletics Centre is adajcent to the stadium. The straight closed on 29th Sep 2013 along with the entire Don Valley Stadium.
