Other Info:
The track surrounds the pitch used by Winchester City FC who use the Sports Pavilion at the track as their clubhouse. It is in poor condition, fairly overgrown and is quite hard. It was used Winchester & District AC until the early 2000s. The steeplechase water jump pit has been filled in, the barrier removed and all the runways have been grassed over. The track and football pitch are part of the grounds of Winchester Sports Association. There are plans to extend the pavilion and install full floodlights but for football use. Abbott's Barton is a part of Winchester and classified as an antiquity. There is a new synthetic track in Winchester at Bar End.
