Other Info:
The University was formerly called University College. The track staged several open/trophy meets in the 1960s and early 1970s. The infield is an all-weather football/hockey pitch so there are no long throw facilities although the old JT runway can still be seen. In September 2003, it became the only track in Swansea as the one at Morfa Stadium was demolished. As a consequence, the track is due to be upgraded to a synthetic 8 lane one with full field event facilities. An indoor 72 metre 6 lane track with full field event facilities is also planned. It is not known when the work will start.
