Other Info:
The track backs onto the Sixfields Community Stadium which is the home of Northampton FC and the Alwyn Hargrave Stand serves both the track and the football stadium. Both were built in 1994 with the opening date of the stadium being 9th October. The infield started to be used as a football pitch in 2001 and the goal posts preclude the use of the JT runways and the internal throwing cage although the latter has been declared unsafe anyway. The external throwing circle is no longer usable and the cage has been taken down as the area is to be used as a football pitch.
