Other Info:
The track was originally cinder and opened in 1937 and had 6 3 foot lanes (4.5 standard lanes) with 8 3 foot lanes (6 standard) on the straight. The 1945 WAAA champs were held here. It was opened as a synthetic track on 24th Aug 1985 by Fatima Whitbread and the then local mayor. The track surface was relaid in 2022.
