Other Info:
This small training track of 5 laps to the mile was built in the 1920s and was owned by the London County Council (LCC). It was used by Shaftesbury Harriers prior to the opening of the current Parliament Hill track in 1939. It was referred to as being on the plateau (thought to be at approximately grid ref. TQ 275862) above the current 400m track, but near to the houses. The track was also described as being where the cross country runners descend the hill for the final run to the finish. The location was described as being on Hampstead Heath but could equally be now described as on Parliament Hill.
