Other Info:
The track is believed to have been built in the 1940s and was grassed over in about the early 1990s. It had very long bends and consequently short straights (about 50 metres) with an additional spur to incorporate a 100 yards straight. The track was the former training base of Barnet & District AC. No hurdles took place as the club did not have any! The site of the track is now a grass football pitch in the winter although the A-Z depicts it as a cricket ground and it was certainly used as such in the past. The course of the track is just about detectable. There is still a LJ/TJ runway in one corner which is of a green matting type surface although it is badly weather beaten. The boards look OK and there is sand in the pit. There is also a throwing circle across the other side of the field.
