This was the training ground of Edinburgh Southern Harriers and they built their club house here. University matches were hosted here in the 1960s & 70s. It was a cinder 5 laps to the mile track with the home straight extended at each end for the start and the finish. An aerial picture of the area shows that the track has been grassed over and is now a football pitch which is believed to be used by Tollcross United FC. The ground is now called Fernieside Recreation Ground, Fernieside Avenue, Edinburgh.
