Other Info:
The track was originally cinder and within a cycle velodrome which was removed when the track was upgraded to synthetic. It used to be referred to as being at the Municipal Sports Ground, Osmaston Park Road, Allenton. The opening meeting of the synthetic track was on 5th May 1984 and it originally had an Avonsport surface. The main LJ and PV runways were resurfaced in April 1999. There are 3 throwing cages and 2 SP fans and a separate 6 lane sprint straight known as the "back track" with additional LJ and PV runways.
