Other Info:
Open meetings & county champs were held here in 1960s and the track was used for meetings until at least the early 1980s. A public track in Darlington associated with the Darlington Rolling Mill Local Authority is mentioned in the AW 1962 list of tracks and I think this is the same place. The track is reported to be in poor condition and was never converted to 400m. It is used by Longfield School and until the opening of the synthetic track in Darlington in November 1999 by Darlington Harriers.
