Other Info:
This is one of the best kept local authority school tracks in the country. The school spent £6,000 in 2001 having the track resurfaced with new dolomite and it is in excellent condition. Six lanes and coloured change over boxes are marked out in summer but the track appears to be 7 lanes all round although the 7th lane maybe a little narrow. The jumping facilities are in fair condition as are the throwing circles. New take-off boards have been ordered for the jumps (June 2001). The school grounds are secure and locked outside school hours. This is probably one of the reasons for the quality of the facility although the other is the commitment of the Head of PE. Anyone wishing to hire the track for training sessions or events must contact the school to negotiate rates and access.
