Other Info:
The tartan track was officially opened by David Hemery on 23 Sep 1973 although a couple of meets were held here earlier in year. It was rebuilt by Fitzpatricks in 1994. The line markings were completed by Athletics Markings Ltd. on 5th September 1994. The track was turned round at this time so the current home straight is the old back straight. The water jump was however left in the same place so it is now on the first bend. The track surface is of the solid system variety. The track is now closed and is in a derelict state - click to see some pics as of June 2014.
