Other Info:
This was a cinder track owned by the Army and staged the county championships in the early 1950s. The location is now a grass rugby pitch with no indication that there was ever a track here. The sports ground on which the track was situated still appears to be owned by the MOD but is openly accessible by the public. The MOD connection is explained by the fact that there is an Army barracks virtually opposite the ground which is currently used by The Royal Regiment Of Wales, Watton, BRECON, LD3 7EA. At the same location there is also the South Wales Borderers Museum, The Barracks, Watton, POWYS, LD3 7EB.
